Exstatic Resonances
This performance practice entangles exstatic resonances in a wildly free style of solo clarinet performance. These resonances arise from treating the clarinet as a site of generative indeterminacy. Creating conditions of acoustic and haptic feedback allows me to explore the real physical coupling that air within the instrument creates with the air-becoming-resonance all around, and the folding back of resonance into itself throughout this cycle. This performance practice explores the ecstatic nature of resonance, in a way where an excess of acoustical energy creates unruly, chaotic, and polyphonic timbral and spatial interferences.
